About Solheim Cup
The Solheim Cup is the leading team event in women's golf - a biennial match-play contest between the United States and Europe, the women's equivalent of the Ryder Cup. Fiercely competitive and played without prize money, it alternates hosting between the two continents.
The next Solheim Cup is a three-day team match between the USA and Europe over foursomes, fourballs and singles. Twelve players a side compete for their continent, and recent editions have been decided by the narrowest of margins.
