Copenhagen Half Marathon 2027

The route is World Athletics certified and AIMS measured, so times count for records and qualifying standards. For 2027 all 45,000 places went into a lottery, and 188,522 people entered. The race is on Sunday 19 September 2027.

This is the fastest half marathon course in the world on the record books: Geoffrey Kamworor ran 58:01 here in 2019 and took 17 seconds off the world record. The loop is flat and runs through Osterbro, Norrebro, Vesterbro and Frederiksberg, passing the Marble Church and Christiansborg, and it is certified by World Athletics and measured by AIMS, so the times count towards records and qualifying standards.

For 2027 every place went into a ballot rather than a first-come sale, and the field grew to 45,000. The draw ran from 16 to 30 September 2026 and drew 188,522 entries, roughly one place for every four applicants, with results due on 5 October. Runners who were drawn had exactly 48 hours to log in, confirm and pay 795 kroner plus a five per cent administration fee.
