Harare city overview

Harare is Zimbabwe's capital, a jacaranda-lined highveld city built around wide colonial-era avenues and a compact business core. First-time visitors should walk the National Gallery of Zimbabwe for Shona stone sculpture, browse the produce and curios at Mbare Musika market, and cool off under trees at Harare Gardens. Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport connects the city to Victoria Falls and the wider region, making Harare a practical first-night base.
