About International Day of Yoga
The International Day of Yoga is a United Nations observance celebrating the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga. Proposed by India and adopted by the UN in 2014, it is now marked around the world with mass participation sessions, often in landmark public spaces.
The next International Day of Yoga is marked on 21 June with mass yoga sessions and events across the world. Each year carries a theme, and gatherings range from small classes to thousands practising together in public squares.

How to take part
Take part through practice, learning or community:
- Join a yoga session, class or community practice if one is available.
- Practise at a level that fits your body and experience.
- Use the day to learn about breath, movement, rest or the wider tradition behind yoga.
- Keep the session welcoming; it should not require expensive gear or advanced poses.
