MWC Barcelona is the industry's largest annual gathering, where network operators, handset makers and infrastructure vendors set direction for the year — historically 5G rollout, increasingly 6G research and AI-enabled networks. Handset launches from Apple, Samsung and Google run on their own separate calendars outside MWC, each timed to its own product cycle. Regional telecom summits cover spectrum policy, infrastructure investment and operator partnerships market by market, complementing the single global trade show. Flagship phone launches from Apple and Samsung tend to land in September and January respectively, giving the mobile calendar two annual peaks outside the trade-show circuit.
