About this event

The Davis Cup Finals decide the men's world team championship in tennis. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between the United States and the British Isles, using a trophy bought by Dwight Davis, and grew into the largest annual international team competition in sport measured by nations entered. For most of its history it ran as home-and-away ties spread across the year, played over three days on a surface chosen by the host — a format that produced some of the sport's most partisan atmospheres. Since 2019 the closing stage has been condensed into a single finals week at one venue, where qualified nations meet in ties of two singles rubbers and a doubles rubber. The change traded home advantage for a compact event but kept the competition's defining feature: players representing a country rather than themselves. The United States hold the record with thirty-two titles. The 2026 finals week runs from 24 to 29 November in Spain.
