About this event
Sydney Marathon became the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major in 2025, joining Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Tokyo. Its point-to-point course starts in North Sydney, crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge on closed roads and finishes beside the Opera House. Major status has drawn record international fields; the 2027 edition is set for 29 August.
