About the event
This is the original route: the race starts in the town of Marathon and follows Marathonos Avenue through Rafina, Pikermi, Pallini and Gerakas into Athens, finishing on the marble of the Panathenaic Stadium that hosted the first modern Olympics in 1896. The course is not kind - the climb between 19 and 32 kilometres is almost continuous. Entry is first come, first served and opened at noon on 24 April 2026.
