Milan-San Remo, first raced in 1907, is cycling's longest Monument Classic at close to 300 kilometres and is known as 'La Classicissima'. Its flat majority followed by a decisive late climb up the Poggio makes it a race that rewards positioning and timing over sheer climbing strength.
