About the event
Lollapalooza began in 1991 as a touring alternative-rock package tour before settling permanently in Chicago's Grant Park in 2005, where it became one of the model events for the modern destination music festival. Its lakefront setting in the heart of downtown Chicago is unusual for a major festival, letting attendees stay in the city rather than camp on-site.
