Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert
About the event
The Vienna Philharmonic plays its New Year's Concert in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein on 1 January 2027, and Tugan Sokhiev conducts it for the first time. The orchestra chooses a different conductor each year and announced his name in 2026; the Wiener Chormaedchen join the programme. The concert is broadcast to more countries than any other classical concert in the calendar, and seats in the hall are allocated by ballot rather than sold over the counter.
