About the event
Sydney's New Year fireworks are among the first major celebrations to reach a global audience each year, given how early the city crosses midnight. The display is staged around the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, with an earlier family fireworks show before the midnight one, and the foreshore vantage points fill many hours in advance.
