About the event
Songkran is the Thai New Year, celebrated each April with the world's biggest water fight - a joyful nationwide soaking that symbolises washing away the old year. Alongside the street water battles, it is a deeply traditional family and temple festival, and it was added to UNESCO's heritage list in 2023.
