Staro Riga Festival of Light – Old Town and the city-centre parks
About the event

Four evenings of light installations across Riga's Old Town and the city-centre parks, from 15 to 18 November 2026, each running 17:00 to 23:00. The festival closes on 18 November, Latvia's Independence Day, which is why the last evening is the busiest one. Routes and the year's theme are published close to the festival rather than months ahead.

Staro Riga runs 15 to 18 November 2026, 17:00 to 23:00 each evening, and it ends on 18 November - Latvia's Independence Day. That is what separates it from other light festivals: the last night is also a national holiday, so the city is out in the streets for two reasons at once.

Light installations are placed across the Old Town and the city-centre parks, and they are lit from 17:00 to 23:00 on each of the four evenings, 15 to 18 November 2026. The works are walked between rather than viewed from one spot. Routes and the year's theme are published shortly before the festival, not months ahead.
