About the event
Japan Expo has run in the Paris region since 1999 and is Europe's largest event dedicated to Japanese popular culture, drawing on cosplay, manga, anime and gaming alongside more traditional Japanese arts like calligraphy and tea ceremony. It draws several hundred thousand attendees across its run, the scale that established it as the template other European Japan-culture conventions followed.
