About the event
Running since 1976, Cairo's festival is the oldest in the Arab world and the region's only competitive feature festival accredited by FIAPF, the body that recognises Cannes, Berlin and Venice. Screenings centre on the Cairo Opera House grounds, and the Golden Pyramid goes to the winner of the main competition.
