About the event
Founded in 1973, the Biennale of Sydney was the first biennial exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region and remains Australia's largest contemporary art event. It spreads across multiple venues each edition - historically including Cockatoo Island, a former shipyard and prison in Sydney Harbour - free to attend throughout its run.
