About the event

The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the most prestigious steeplechase in National Hunt racing, the highlight of the four-day Cheltenham Festival each March. Unlike flat racing's showcase events, it is a jumps race over three and a quarter miles with more than twenty fences, a discipline that rewards stamina and jumping technique as much as speed.
