The Big Bash League Final decides Australia's men's Twenty20 franchise championship. The competition launched in the 2011–12 season, replacing the older state-based Twenty20 tournament with eight city-based clubs designed to reach a broader audience than traditional first-class cricket. It is played through the Australian summer holidays, in the evening and on free-to-air television, and has become one of the country's best-attended domestic sporting competitions, drawing families and casual spectators as much as cricket followers. The season runs as a round-robin followed by a finals series, so the two teams contesting the decider are not known until the closing weeks, and the final is hosted by the higher-ranked surviving side rather than at a fixed neutral ground. Perth Scorchers have been the most successful club across the league's history. The next final is scheduled for 25 January 2027, once the finals bracket has determined the two contestants.
