The Korean Series is the championship round of the KBO League, South Korea's professional baseball competition, played as a best-of-seven between the regular-season pennant winner and the team that survives the postseason ladder below it. The KBO launched in 1982 with six clubs and now runs ten, most of them owned by major Korean corporations and rooted in a specific city or region. Korean baseball is best known abroad for its crowd culture: each team fields a cheerleading squad and a cheermaster on a platform, every batter has his own chant, and supporters sing through the entire game rather than only at key moments — a style closer to European football terraces than to American ballparks. Food brought in from outside, plus fried chicken and beer in the stands, is part of the ritual. The 2026 series window runs from 24 October to 1 November, with the host order set once both finalists are known.
