About the event

The NFL Draft is the league's annual player-selection event, where teams pick from that year's eligible college players in reverse order of the previous season's standings - the league's central mechanism for competitive balance. It has grown from a private league meeting into a televised multi-day event staged in a different host city each year, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans to public viewing areas.
