About the event
Lake of Stars Malawi Arts Festival is a multi-arts event on the Lake Malawi shore in Nkhotakota. Founded in 2004, it has grown from a music-focused gathering into a programme that combines music, dance, theatre, film and visual art, drawing both Malawian and international audiences. The announced 2026 edition is scheduled for 2–4 October at Fish Eagle Bay Lodge in Sani Mbalame Village. The organiser describes the festival as a space for creativity, connection, investment and celebration, and its published artist material includes Malawian performers alongside artists from elsewhere in Africa. That mix is important: Lake of Stars is not simply a touring international bill dropped into a resort, but a showcase for contemporary Malawian culture in a lakeside setting.
