About the event
Kiruna's snow festival takes place well above the Arctic Circle, where the sun barely clears the horizon in midwinter. Its centrepiece is a snow-sculpting competition drawing carvers internationally, held alongside dog-sled racing and a programme rooted in the Sami culture of Swedish Lapland.
