About the event
The number of works and the opening hours are published closer to the festival.
Lux Helsinki moves into the New Year for the first time: eight nights from 30 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, rather than the early-January run it has had before. That overlap is the reason to go now - a single trip catches both New Year in Helsinki and the light works.
Light works are installed across the centre of Helsinki and shown over eight consecutive nights, 30 December 2026 to 6 January 2027. The festival describes this as the first time it invites people to ring in the New Year with light art. The number of works and the nightly hours are published closer to the dates.
Not published as of 2026-10-19. Lux Helsinki has announced the eight nights, 30 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, and the New Year framing, but not the route, the number of works or the hours - so how a visitor moves through it, and when, is not something this page can state yet.
