Buenos Aires Tango Festival and World Cup turns the city’s own dance language into a two-week programme of concerts, milongas, orchestras, talks and championship competition. The 2026 edition runs from 20 August to 2 September at multiple venues around Buenos Aires. Its World Cup is the central competitive event: professional and amateur couples from more than 50 countries compete in the Tango de Pista and Tango Escenario categories. The festival also places performances and social dancing in theatres and cultural venues rather than concentrating the experience in a single arena.
