About the event
Munich’s Oktoberfest has been held on the Theresienwiese since the 1810 wedding celebrations of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. The festival is defined by the large beer tents operated by Munich breweries, traditional fairground rides and the opening keg-tapping ceremony in the Schottenhamel tent. The 2026 edition is scheduled from 18 September to 3 October; reservations are handled by individual tent operators rather than by one central ticket office.
