About World Reef Day
World Reef Day is an annual call to action to protect the world's coral reefs - among the most biodiverse and threatened ecosystems on Earth. It encourages individuals, businesses and communities to make choices that reduce the pressure on reefs.
The next World Reef Day is marked on 1 June with awareness campaigns, education and conservation drives. It focuses attention on coral bleaching, ocean warming and the everyday choices that affect reef health.

How to take part
Make the day about reef protection and ocean habits:
- Learn or share one practical reef-protection action, such as reducing pollution, choosing reef-safe travel behaviour or cutting unnecessary waste.
- Use the day to highlight coral reefs, marine biodiversity and the pressure reefs face from warming seas.
- Join or promote a beach, river or community cleanup if one is available nearby.
- If you dive, snorkel or travel, check local reef guidelines before entering the water.
